Job Summary:
An excellent opportunity has come up for a Medical Advisor/Director to join an international medical communications company, located in New York, and lead a team providing a range of services in healthcare communications.

Responsibilities:
The post holder will be the principal therapeutic expert in providing medical/scientific expertise and perspective to clients developing agents in a particular therapeutic field.
The Medical Advisor will provide guidance and leadership for members of the Medical Team, coach and mentor them, contribute to resource management of Medical Team – planning, assigning and supervising work. The post holder will manage multiple projects for a particular product and will ensure that the professional standard remains at the highest level, and in accordance with scientific strategic philosophy.
The job will also involve handling pharmaceutical industry clients, implementation of new business and development of business proposals, maintenance and development of Key Opinion Leaders, close liaising with Medical Communications, Client Service and Business Development teams.
The Director would also contribute credible and scientifically valid concepts to new business proposals and ongoing client programmes, and ensure that medical communications are accurate, clinically relevant and reflect the most recent advances in the medical field.
Desirable Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Preferably educated to a degree level, or able to demonstrate relevant scientific expertise and experience (life sciences, pharmacology or medicine.)
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
• Relevant experience in strategic medical communications in either the pharmaceutical or medical communications industry including experience with scientific content development
• Highly knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical marketing.
• Ability to develop and influence Key Opinion Leaders.
• Ability to work independently on all aspects of pharmaceutical marketing.
• Experience in dealing with healthcare communications and education.
• Strategic insight into healthcare communications.
• Ability to work closely with personnel in the pharmaceutical industry and medical arena and develop close relationships.
• Good therapeutic understanding and interest in clinical excellence.
• Ability to identify new and roll-on business opportunities.
• Excellent strategic, project and people management skills.
• Ability to contribute innovative and successful proposals.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
